Bald is beautiful.... except when it's bad...
I got tired of shaving my brainpan every two weeks so I started paying more attention to it. Of course, the week that I decide this and actually shave more than once in a week, I have an outdoor training course to attend and forget both sunscreen and hat.

Yeah... second degree sunburn on the ol' pate... sucked... badly.. I had to use surgical dressings to soak up the weeping and a bandanna to keep that in place.. At least my helmet didn't irritate it... (it was a motorcycle safety training course...)

anyone tried the headblade?
I'm considering purchasing one to replace my quatro, which is getting old.

One more year to celebrate head shaving
As empty and inactive as this group is, I would like to take some time to celebrate the sensuality of a nice shaven scalp.

It's summer. The heat is beautiful, my head begs to be touched, without a filter of hair, and I feel alive. For me baldness is both a turn-on, and a ritual with deep meaning.

Perhaps we would like to share some of our reasons for choosing baldness.

Razor Choice
Straight razors? Disposable blades? Brands, makes models? Fun novelty blades such as http://www.headblade.com/ ? What do you use, and what process did you go through in finding your taste.

Cream, Foam, or Soap?
Favourite brands? Personal experiences in exploring which choice you like best, etc.....?

Hello, I’m new here. I live in Wisconsin, and I shave my head once a year - on the Summer Solstice - to show religious devotion to the natural cycle of life. I also find shaven, or otherwise bald heads to be extremely sexy.

I am thinking that it's time...
This community really hasn't gotten any action in some time. Anyone else want to be the mod? Or shall I can it?

Whew... what a weekend..
The one thing that I hate about SCA events is that I can't really give my head a good shaving.. I mean, I COULD... I take my shaving soap and my straight-razor... but then there's hot water that's needed and all kinda stuff.. besides.. I don't have a mirror to make sure that I don't miss any spots..
And then, of course, I get Velcro-Head... which means that my new, newish rabbit velour hat leaves nasty black lint alllll over my scalp.... left this weekend's event to get some stuff from Wal-Mart and, at the end of the in-store excursion, went to the lavatory to discover, as I washed, that my head looked all dirty... a quick swipe of my palm over my scalp showed little lint balls.... ick.
I wish that there was a depilatory cream or something that I could use on my scalp.
Believe it or not, I was crazy enough to try Nair one time. I made sure to get the bottle that DIDn'T say not to use on crotch or face, figuring that, in this sue-happy world, if the bottle didn't say not to, it shouldn't be a problem.... Yeah... Don't try this at home, folks. I was a mass of burned head... quite painful and nasty...

Greeting and Salutations
So, there I am in the break room getting some coffee (and burning myself by spilling it in the process) and this guy walks up behind me and says, "So... any tips for someone new to shaving their head?"
A long discussion ensues and we talk about all sorts of little tips and tricks and the best razors, conditioning and lubricating substances and everything related.
I realized, there's a lot of things that I didn't know when I first started shaving the ol' brainpan that a lot of people could probably have told me.
Thus, the community idea arose. A place where all of this type of information could be found easily and discussed with comparitive results and.. well.. good stuff!

So, I'd like to welcome you to my bald brain and invite discussion on whatever you like that has to do with getting or maintaining your bald, beautiful scalp!
